Address:  28, Novoslobodskaya Street, Moscow

Design — 1994–1995
Realization — 1996–1997

During the reconstruction of a residential building on Novoslobodskaya Street, the goal was to get a new small one–entrance residential building for the middle class. To make it cozy and organically integrated into the historical environment of the street sharp architectural shapes and fantasy games were abandoned in the project. The first design, done in a grotesque form, quite clearly manifested the idea to build a house by modest means but with an apparent identity. Each floor is designed differently: each has its own window type, relief and decorative elements. The house catches one’s eye by exact scale, place on the street and its obvious modernity.

Technical and economic performance:

  • Plottage — 0,8 hectares
  • Building area — 329 m²
  • Total area of the house — 1 539,32 m²
  • Total area of apartments — 830,43 m²
  • Living space of apartments — 456,46 m²
  • Total area of offices — 229,63 m²
  • Total structural volume — 6 426 m³, including underground part — 205 m³
  • Number of floors — 6
