THE CENTRAL HOUSE OF ARTISTS AND THE STATE TRETYAKOV GALLERY AT KRYMSKY VAL

Contest project.

 

According to the project, the existing framework of the building is to be preserved for further use. All construction, including the yard, will be covered with translucent covering resting on four supports. The perimeter of the covering lap over the contours of the existing building; which makes it possible to place shops, cafes, bars, workshops, etc. at the ground level and mezzanine floor.

The roof of the existing building is turned into multipurpose space where it is possible to accommodate auditorium of any configuration, organize expositions, and open restaurants and cafes with observation decks.

Elements of the facade are solved as huge TV screens with constantly changing visual and text information about exhibitions and art expositions, cultural news of Russia and the whole world, which turn the building into information center of art for all townsmen.

  • Total area of the building — 113 390 m², including new construction — 59 864 m²
  • Total structural volume — 1 140 m³
